We Vape supports launch of UK COP9 campaign #BackVapingSaveLives

In November, Governments will meet at COP9 to talk about how to eliminate tobacco use. However, under pressure from anti-vaping activists and the WHO, Governments are looking to introduce further restrictions on vaping. 3.2 million smokers have made the switch to vaping, with 50,000 more quitting cigarettes for vapes every year, vaping is the most powerful quit tool in UK history.

#BackVapingSaveLives is a campaign calling on the UK Government to back vaping on an international stage. We believe the UK should send consumers to represent the UK at COP9, to showcase the superiority of the UK’s approach to smoking cessation over more damaging, illiberal alternatives. As well as making sure, harm reduction is front and centre to the FCTC and COP9 process, so that vaping and reduced risks products can save lives around the world.

Our message to the British Government is to #BackVapingSaveLives, so that millions of smokers can switch from combustible cigarettes to a scientifically proven alternative – vaping.

For this event, we are delighted to be joined by three experts in the field of tobacco harm reduction to discuss how the UK can lead the world in embracing safer alternatives to smoking at COP9.
